Common Musician Insurance Claims
Claim 1: Property Damage
Are you prepared to repay a local venue for damage to their floor? Floors are just one common property claim, but others include accidental fires to the structure or damage to the venue’s sound or stage equipment (i.e. speakers being blown out or spills on the sound control board).
Claim 2: Bodily Injury
Someone might trip and injure themself because of sloppy cords or the layout of your equipment. Bodily injury claims can cost you thousands of dollars out of pocket for medical expenses and loss of income based on various circumstances.
Claim 3: Your Personal Property
Tools & Equipment (Inland Marine) coverage may cover your tools, gear, and equipment as it travels with you to gigs in the event it is stolen or damaged. Accidents involving spilled beverages, shorting out circuit boards, and items that are stolen are common enough, there is no specific example to give you!
Questions About Musicians Insurance
Musicians insurance covers claims that may arise from your performance or operations during an event. For example, if a club patron injures themselves by tripping over your equipment or you damage a venue, musicians insurance could help cover the costs of these claims.
Musicians insurance provides coverages for your general liability and public liability needs. Our policy provides general liability insurance for bands as well as individual musicians.
- Having liability insurance pegs you as a serious professional.
- Clients or venue owners may require you to show proof of insurance before hiring you.
- Liability insurance gives you a layer of defense against claims such as bodily injury or property damage.
- You can enjoy financial peace of mind.
- Easily list club or venue owners as additional insureds
A basic 1–3 day general liability insurance policy starts at $59. An annual policy starts at $199 with monthly payment options.
Yes. Musicians insurance is an important component of your business and is designed to protect you should you be sued as a result of your business operations. You could be held liable for claims that include injuries, illnesses, or damages arising from your entertainment services. Claims can arise from guests, venues, vendors, or other participants. You may also be named in claims against the venue and may not be extended coverage under their policy.
Yes, an Annual Policy can extend your insurance coverage to instruments and other gear. Select to add the tools, equipment, and gear coverage to your policy at checkout for a low monthly cost.
There are two pricing options to choose from, so you can select the amount that can reimburse your instrument or equipment if it is ever damaged or stolen. This coverage will carry with you no matter where you are performing!
Musicians insurance is a general liability policy designed to cover third-party claims against you or your group. These are instances where you caused damage to someone else’s property (including venues) or injured someone due to negligence.
Our policy is designed to cover solo artists or groups of up to 10 people. You have the ability to add options to the general liability policy, including instrument coverage that is not otherwise covered.
You can easily download your certificate of insurance after checkout. It will be available in your customer dashboard along with other helpful items that can be downloaded as PDFs.
Visit the dashboard and click “Proof of Insurance” to easily download this document.
There are two types of certificates that you may be interested in downloading from your policy.
- Proof of Insurance: This document is your “proof” that a certificate is issued to you, certifying coverage under a commercial and general liability master policy. This document will list the limits of your coverage, additional options you added to your policy, and the effective date.
- Certificate for Additional Insureds: If you have added a venue, employer, or location as an additional insured, you can download a certificate of insurance. This certificate lists details of the insurance policy, including coverage limits but also lists their personal names and addresses. This certificate doesn’t transfer the rights of your policy. It’s still your policy—it simply extends your coverage to an additional insured in the event that you and the additional insured are listed in a claim.
To have your instruments and equipment covered, you must purchase the additional “Tools and Equipment” option at checkout or when renewing your policy.
Otherwise, this general liability only covers third-party claims when you or someone who works for you causes damages to someone else’s property—which could include their equipment or their instruments. But it would not extend coverage to your own gear.
Yes! Wedding bands are covered under this policy!
Purchase event coverage for 1-3 day-long events or an annual policy for coverage for a full year. Depending on how many weddings you perform at, the annual coverage may be the better option for purchase.
Purchase DJ coverage if you are a Wedding DJ.
