Do I Need DJ Event Insurance?
Yes. One day DJ event insurance is an important component of your DJ business and is designed to protect your financial assets if you were to be sued as a result of an incident occurring at one of your gigs. You could be held liable for claims that include injuries, illnesses, or damages arising from your DJ services. The legal costs alone from claims like these can be financially devastating. With one day DJ insurance, you’ll have the protection you need just in case something goes wrong.
Does DJ Liability Insurance for One Day Cover Lighting?
Yes, our one day DJ insurance policy covers lighting, but with two exclusions:
- We don’t cover pyrotechnics
- We don’t cover sound & lighting technicians
If you’re a DJ who wants to set up small light displays for your set, general liability insurance is included under the Event Policy. But if you set up lights for other DJ’s sets, those events would not be covered.
Do You Need a DJ Event Policy or an Annual Policy?
To fit your DJ business needs, Insurance Canopy provides two DJ policies—an event policy and an annual policy. An event policy is best suited for DJs who are playing one show or are playing at a weekend-long event. The show policy is active for up to 3 consecutive days. An annual policy is active for one year and is designed for DJs who perform year-round or plan on DJing for several months at a time. Keep in mind that Tools & Equipment Coverage is not available with the event policy. Do You Offer Mobile DJ Insurance?
Both our annual and event policies cover mobile DJs.
For the best coverage, we suggest purchasing the annual policy with the option to add Tools & Equipment coverage, also known as Inland Marine Insurance. This coverage extends protection to your gear and equipment that you take with you when you travel to events. It is designed to cover damage or theft to your business’ property, even when you are performing on location.
Your general liability policy covers third-party claims against you—when you cause damage to someone else’s property or injure someone due to negligence.
