A basic 1-3 day general liability insurance policy starts at $59. An annual policy starts at $199. The annual policy has monthly payments available after a 25% down payment.
Yes. Clown event insurance is an important component of your business and is designed to protect your financial assets if you were to be sued as a result of your business operations. You could be held liable for claims that include injuries, illnesses, or damages arising from your entertainment services. The legal costs alone from claims like these can be financially devastating. With clown event insurance, you’ll have the protection you need just in case something goes wrong.
It can, with the purchase of “Inland Marine” coverage, which is insurance-speak for “Tools and Equipment” coverage. With this optional insurance, your tools of the trade can be insured and protected against damage and theft.
This coverage can cover equipment such as costumes, speakers, props, and puppets at events, in storage, and even when in transit from one location to another for work.
It is easy to add this Tools & Equipment coverage to your annual policy at the time of purchase by simply selecting the right coverage amount for your business. Consider the per item and annual limits when selecting the right coverage for your business.
Didn’t purchase Tools & Equipment, but want to add it to your insurance policy? Simply log in at insurancecanopy.com and visit the “Manage Policy” section. Click “My Policy” which will load what coverage you currently have selected. If you would like to add or increase your limit, select the button “Change Policy Options” and select the new limit.

An event policy provides coverage for up to 3 consecutive days, which is great if you don’t have many gigs booked for the year. But if this is your profession, you are likely to attend multiple events each year. Simply working 3 or more events in a year means the more cost-effective solution is an annual policy.
Plus, annual coverage allows you to add coverage for your gear, equipment, and props!
Only one clown can be covered under each insurance policy. To be properly covered, each clown would require their own general liability policy which can be purchased with monthly payments or a one-time annual payment. You can, however, add unlimited additional insureds to your policy for free.
An additional insured can be a venue, party planner, homeowner, or company you list on your policy. By naming an Additional Insured, you are extending liability coverage to them in the event they are listed in a lawsuit against you.
This coverage is not a unique policy for them, and will not extend them coverage unless you are named in a suit. Coverage can extend for a single event or throughout your year, as needed.
