Zen & Friendly Goat Yoga Instructor Insurance
Hello! Have you herd the good news?
Yes, Goat Yoga is a thing! Plus, you can teach it safely and securely with the right insurance coverage
What is Goat Yoga Insurance?
Goat yoga insurance is a safety net designed to help cover the risks of yoga instruction and the additional risks when your yoga class includes a friendly team of goats interacting with students.
Say you’re leading a class with a trio of Swiss Alpine goats for a community event at a local park. While you’re demonstrating a block-assisted shoulder stand pose, one of the participants decides to perform the more advanced version without the block. The student gets lightheaded and loses their balance.
As they try to avoid falling on one of the goats, they end up kicking another participant in the face. Now you have one student with neck pain and a torn rotator cuff, and another sporting a bloody nose and a chipped tooth. And both want you and the event organizers to pay for their medical bills.
Your goat yoga instructor insurance is designed to help you pay for injuries like these, or for legal fees should one of the students choose to name you in a lawsuit.
How Much Does Goat Yoga Insurance Cost?
Our instructor insurance for goat yoga starts at $159 per year, or $15 a month.
For as low as 44 cents a day, you get comprehensive insurance that includes both general and professional liability coverage in one simple policy – allowing you to worry less and cultivate joy more.
Plus, we don’t raise the price of your policy based on your zip code, the number of yoga styles you teach, or the number of locations you work!
Do I Need Insurance to Offer Goat Yoga?
Yes! You need insurance to teach yoga with goats because even though goats are cute, claims are not.
The farms, property owners, or studios that host your goat yoga classes may require you to have your own personal liability insurance before working with you.

Does This Policy Cover Other Farm-Related Activities I Offer, Like Petting Zoos or Farm Tours?
No. This policy is designed for yoga instructors only. It covers a variety of yoga styles, including goat yoga, but no additional farm or animal-related activities. The policy excludes yoga or other services involving an equine (horse).
What if a Participant Claims an Allergic Reaction to a Goat?
A claim involving an allergic reaction may be covered under this policy. Participants could experience an allergic reaction to the goats or other allergens in the environment (like pollen, hay, or grass).
To best protect yourself from these claims, use a liability waiver form that includes a section about potential allergens. A waiver does not guarantee legal protection, but it does provide reasonable informed consent and adds an extra layer of protection in the event someone files a claim.
Does This Policy Cover Injury to the Goats?
No. This policy applies to the instructor and their human students only. Care for the goats should be handled by the farm, organization, or owner who provides them. Some will also provide an official goat handler to monitor the goats during class.
